Dead Flowers (Tupper-Jarrell) If there’s one thing I remember when I look back on my life: All the things I thought I knew, and thought I knew was right, were only misconceptions of my reality, cast among the instances of my frailty. Now I'm wondering if I was even there, or just holding up dead flowers in the air. Yesterday was clearer with all my eyes half closed. s’Funny how the lack of understanding made me bold. But one day when thirst for truth came knocking at my door, I realized that all I knew wasn't working any more. Now I wonder if was even there, or just holding up dead flowers in the air. Oh, Oh, was I even there? Or just holding up dead flowers in the air. With every little bit of truth I see an endless road. The path is there, and I declare it is a heavy load. Now I sit and wonder if I’ll ever see the light, or is my life just something I never will get right. I’ve grown weary of hanging out nowhere, and holding up dead flowers in the air. Oh, Oh, was I even there? Or just holding up dead flowers in the air. Oh, Oh, I’ve just got to be somewhere, or I’m just holding up dead flowers in the air.

Running Out Of Time (Tupper-Jarrell) Did you ever feel you’re running out of time? Ohhhhhhh, Ohh, Ohhhh, running out of time, running out of time. My gran’pa was a self-made man…he fed his family better than anybody can (running’ out of time…) When he finally laid his shovel down, the very next day we laid him in the ground (runnin’ out of time) Ohhhhhhh, Ohh, Ohhhh, running out of time Runnin’, runnin’, running out of time, running out of time, running out of time. Tomorrow comes without a promise, so I’ll go on, chasin’ the sunsets. I’ll measure out my next moments, living love, with no regrets. Runnin’ out of time. Was thinkin’ how quick he passed away, I said to Ma: “what a cryin’ shame” (runnin’ out of time) She said, “your body’s clock has so many days, and each passing tick it’s digging your grave” (runnin’ out of time) “…so don’t waste time frettin’ over the small things, find someone who’ll share in your dreams”. Did you ever feel you’re running out of time? Like running in a race and they move the finish the line, running out of time, running out of time... Did you ever feel you’re running out of time? Ohhhhhhh, Ohh, Ohhhh, running out of time Runnin’, runnin’, running out of time, running out of time, running out of time. Tomorrow comes without a promise, so I’ll go on, chasin’ the sunsets. I’ll measure out my next moments, living love, with no regrets. Running out of time, Running out of time, Running out of time, Running out of time. Running.

Waiting For The Sun (Tupper-Jarrell) When the daylight fades to night, no one has it right, everyone’s a dancer. So we’re left here on our own, no one is at home, no one has the answer. We've been waiting, we've been waiting, we’ve been waiting to become. Clouds can block the final view, it’s hard to see what’s true when you can’t see clearly. So I’m waiting for the sun, to know what I've become, see myself sincerely. I've been waiting, I've been waiting, I’ve been waiting for the sun. Waiting for the sun, waiting for the sun, Waiting for the sun I've been waiting, I've been waiting, I’ve been waiting for the sun. In the shadows of doubt… (I stumble and fall) Illuminate my thoughts… (I will stand tall) Reaching for the day light. We look forward to the day when all the children play, and all has been forgiven. Heal the battles of the past, a palace made of glass has no place in heaven. Seems we’re waiting, we're always waiting, anticipating what's to come. We’ve been waiting, procrastinating, let’s all step into the sun. Stop waiting to become, let's step into the sun. Step into the sun. Stop waiting for the sun.

I Can’t Believe It (Tupper-Jarrell) And I can’t believe it. I’m sittin’ on the top of the world. I just can’t believe it. I’m livin’ this dream with my girl. There’s no other place that I’d rather be, when she’s here lovin’ me. Knit one, purl two, pullin’ that yarn through, her fingers makin’ things soft and pretty. While I pick guitar strings, tickle them ivories, my fingers play a new little ditty. Two birds of a feather, making love together, and sittin’ on top of the world. And I can’t believe it. I’m living this dream and… I’m sittin’ on top of my world. Who’d a thunk my good luck, was making me star struck, living happily ever after. She’s my lucky charm, ladybugs love her arms, four-leaf clovers wish they could have her. Two birds of a feather, we were made to be together, me and my girl. And I can’t believe it. I’m sittin’ on the top of the world. I just can’t believe it. I’m livin’ this dream with my girl. And I can’t believe it. We’re living this dream We’re sittin’ on top of the world. I may be dreamin’ but this feeling’s got me reelin’ in a good way. If you find me sleep-walking, and sweet-talkin’, don’t wake me up I’m with my lady. And I can’t believe it. I’m sittin’ on the top of the world. I just can’t believe it. I’m livin’ this dream with my girl. There ain't too much we can count on today, forever seems a thing of the past. With her love for me I’m starting to see harmony at last. And I can’t believe it. I’m sittin’ on the top of the world. I just can’t believe it. I’m livin’ this dream with my girl. There’s no place else that I’d rather be, when she’s here lovin’ me. There’s nothing like it in this old world than sittin here lovin’ my girl. And I can’t believe it. I’m living this dream and… And I can’t believe it. I’m sittin’ on top, sittin’ on top, sitting on top of my world.

Trouble 05:16
Trouble (Tupper-Jarrell) I’ve been kicked to the floor when I deserved so much more. By acting the fool I got knocked right through the door. I know I've been trouble, trouble. I’d rather not be here when the law comes to my door… time will tell… If this prison I'm building is my salvation, or my hell. Been running my mouth, I let the whisky pour. If looks could kill, you’d see my chalk-line on the floor. You I know I've been trouble, I been trouble. I’d rather not be here, when the law gets at my door. Oooh. I got trouble, and only time will tell… If these walls I’m building are my heaven … or my hell, or my hell. I’m caught between my heaven & my hell. I’m caught between my between heaven & my hell. The dirty work’s gotta be done, somewhere, somehow. If I don’t do it, who will, for crying out loud. This sacrifice is worth the price. Cuz trouble right now, buys time for my woman and child, for my woman and child. I've been a mess ‘a trouble, trouble. I’d rather not be here when the law gets at my door. I got troubles, and only time will tell… If these walls I’m building are my heaven… or my hell. Bless my soul… I’m caught between my heaven & my hell. I’m caught between my heaven & my hell. Mmmm. Now, I've been hopin’ and a prayin’, and all I can deduce… I don't want to be here when the chickens come home to roost. No, I don't want to be here when the chickens come home. I've been a mess of trouble, yeah trouble. I’d rather not be here when the law kicks down my door. I got troubles, (I’m in trouble, I’m in trouble), And only time will tell If these walls I’m building are my heaven … or my hell, or my hell… I’ve been trouble.

Legend Of Sam (Tupper-Jarrell) Sam ran away from here, don’t know why and don’t know where, he just up and disappeared. Just yesterday right after work, went drinkin’ with the boys but now we fear we won’t see ‘im anymore, anymore. Oh-no, where’d he go? We looked high and we looked low. Uh-oh, he seemed OK, but he just up and went away. Good old Sam was living the dream, had it beat or so it seemed, but he was broken and hid it well. Must ‘ve felt a cold wind blow, chilled his heart and chilled his soul, by the morning he was gone, he was gone. Now, how did he disappear? Maybe was never here, never here, never here. Oh-no, where’d he go? We looked high and we looked low. Uh-oh, he seemed OK, but he just up and went away. Oh-no, where’d he go? We looked high and we looked low. Uh-oh, where’d be he? He might be here but we can’t see. Sam’s like you and me, the common man living the dream, but we all knew he wasn’t there. When you feel just like a ghost, and folks are looking right thru you, then you can go anywhere. So when you feel a cold wind blow, chills the heart and chills the soul, by morn’ we could all be gone, gone. How did he disappear? Maybe was never here, never here, never here. Oh-no, where’d I go? I might be high, I might be low. Uh-oh, I seemed OK, but I just faded far away. Uh-oh, where’d we go? We ain’t high and we ain’t low. Oh-no, where are we? We might be here, but they can’t see.

I Can Stand The Pain (Tupper-Jarrell) I…. can stand the pain, and I can stand your games. Yeah, I can stand you calling me ug-a-ly nasty names, but where I draw the line…I can’t stand your lies. You can drag my name through the mud, cancel all the people I trust. Yeah, you can take all my possessions and leave them out to rust, but where I draw the line… I can’t stand your lies… stand your lies. Can’t stand the way you look me straight in the eye, with that crooked smile, sayin’ everything’s alright. And just ’cuz you scream it, doesn’t help me to believe it… your words make my ears bleed – ohh. I can't stand your lies, your dirty little lies And If you think I'm joking, you’re in for a surprise. No, I can't stand your lies, can’t stand your lies. I can stand your screamin’, and your dirty dog schemin’, Yeah, I can stand you bleedin’ the life right out of my dreams, But don’t you steal my voice and make believe it’s my choice, (‘cuz where I draw the line) … I can’t stand your lies… (I draw the line) … it’s a hard-n-fast line… (I draw the line) … You don’t wanna cross this line. I can’t stand your lie. Can’t stand the way you look me straight in the eye, with that crooked little smile, sayin’ everything’s alright. I can hear you scream it, but I never will believe it, your words make my ears bleed – but... I can stand the pain, but not your dirty little lies I can stand the pain, but not your dirty little lies I can’t stand your lies… dirty little lies. I can’t stand your lie. I can’t stand your lies. (‘cuz where I draw the line) … I can’t stand your lies… (I draw the line) … it’s a hard-n-fast line… (I draw the line) … you don’t wanna cross this line.

Stolen Love (Tupper-Jarrell) Where did we go wrong? Why’d we wait so long? We were meant to be. Your daddy hated me. Cross this bridge together. Your dad has other plans. Ship you off to the big, big city, to another man. Stolen love, Stolen love. Now your heart’s a cryin’, my heart’s cryin’, too. Let’s end our pain together, like lover’s often do. Stolen love, Stolen love. Stolen love, Stolen love, Stolen love.

Be 05:21
Be (Tupper-Jarrell) Deep in the dark of night, I see the stars so bright. And what they say to me-e-e… “Why are you suffering? Be free”. Don’t shed a tear for me, just show some sympathy. We share a common dream, Come walk this road with me, full of uncertainty. ‘Cause I’ve been playin’ and complicatin’ my life. With Things I Can’t See, why are they haunting me? Things I Can’t See, casting clouds on me, so I can’t breathe. And just be. We were all meant to be, no we don’t always see… …the path to set us free… all we need to live this life in harmony. With Things you Can’t See, they cause this suffering? Things you Can’t See, no time to time to simply be, Things you Can’t See, like how this world should be, Things you Can’t See, they get the best of me Things you Can’t See, “things we can’t see…’ tagout

I Don't Remember (Tupper-Jarrell) I don't remember you, and I don't remember me. I was so happily in wonder of everything. Don't you want it to be that way? Don't you love it when your best friends say “hello”? Don’t you wanna just play all day, become the children of yesterday, again. There’s still hope while we're living. Love that we’re giving, wakes up our naked heart. There’s still time for waking, the children within us are waiting for love Once on a happy day, I heard the music play. I remember how it used to be…careless, alive and free. Don't you wanna be that way? Don't you love it when your buddies say “let's play”? Do you remember a summer's day, all your trouble just fade away? I remember, I remember. Don't you want it to be that way? Don't you love it when your best friends say, hello? Don't you wanna just play all day, become the children of yesterday, again, my friend. Well I say “Hello”. Now I remember you.

And It Burns 03:43
And It Burns (Tupper-Jarrell) She just walked straight out the door…left her things on the floor… but she-had to run. She never felt this kind of fear, on her own, no love near… anger made her burn. And it burned…her heart burned. “Come to bed it’s getting late, she'll sneak in when-we're-not awake'”…. her Momma sighed. . He couldn't move from his place, callused hands cupped to his face … and he sat and he cried. And it burned… Lord it burned. How he burned, Lord it burned. Morning came with a sign you know it eased his worried mind… he’ll-be-a-better man. With the sound of an opening door, she crept in tired and worn. He embraced her without-judging, her blank stare says she's not…… budging. A line was crossed, trust was lost. Now she knows where she went wrong. She wants to go where she belongs now… back home, back home. As he turns she hugs him tight, they both lost the will to fight, just fading away, Well now it’s all gonna be alright, they feel the light of a brand-new day. And now there’s no doubt, what was lost is now found… …both-will-reach a higher ground… With a love that burns… a beautiful burn, repeat (tagout)

Stone Cold Sober (Tupper-Jarrell) When I leave the city, it’s clatter and rush, I head to the country: I find a sweet hush. Problems seem smaller, the pressure subsides. And I’m stone cold sober, but man I feel high. There’s a sound in the morning that I love to hear. Like the wind in the mountains, it’s drawing me near. Calling me over the whippoorwill cries. And I’m stone cold sober, but man I feel high. High, man, I feel high. Nature's love joins me, on my cabin porch. We look to the heavens to find my true north. With no distractions I can see clearly… the truth that’s within me, truth that is me. An honesty fills me, when I’m here alone. Truth is much clearer, while skipping a stone. The lake is a mystical color of blue. A life that's worth living is a life that is true. Life that is, life that is True. A life that is, life that is true, true. I’m stone cold sober my head is a spinning. The wonders around me rest soft on my shoulders like a coat from the cold, and they’re Calling me over to take it all in. My life is clearer than it’s ever been, ever been … And I’m stone cold sober, but man I’m feeling high. High, man I feel, man I feel, high, man I feel, man I feel high, Man, I feel, man I feel high.

about

Perry and Bob's first Americana genre album. Perry and Bob ventured into new musical territory in producing this duo album. The territory is the Americana genre, and man is it earthy stuff. A lot of songs on the market are consumed like candy… sweet and satisfying for a short sugar high. We like the Americana genre because it consumes more like meat, ‘taters and greens… sticks to your bones and feeds the soul. After discovering Americana music and spending time listening and learning about it’s history, the boys were inspired to write and produce new songs using the tools of the genre, using mostly acoustic instruments (mandolin, guitars, piano, harmonica, fiddle, spoons), and telling stories of the American experience. They were particularly inspired by Appalachian style of the genre. We hope you enjoy.
